dulcie scott & 165 Costumiers (lockdown heroes)

This story appears in todays THE SUNDAY TIMES, MAGAZINE. Dulcie is a well-established, costumier supervisor and co-ordinator, and for the last two years has been working in Cardiff on the production of HIS DARK MATERIALS. At the outbreak of LOCKDOWN, she and her team started to discuss makung scrubs, purely not-for-profit, to help the under-supplied NHS and the staff. Dulcie bought the first set of materials with her credit card but then appealed for funds on gofundme.com and with a target of £1,500 reached £8,000 within two days and still going. Compared to the often tricky demands of TV and Film work, Dulcie and her, now 165 volunteers, find making srubs relatively straightforward but they do not skimp on quality Using heavy 200g polycotton, Dulcie estimates that the scrubs will help the NHS for years. So far they have delivered 8,000 sets of scrubs to hospitals all over the country and Dulcie personally delivers to hospitals local to her. A great effort from a team of volunteers, many of whom have no income at present. To donate, visit https://lnkd.in/depWrtg
