IRISH RUGBY CLUB (LOCKDOWN HEROES)

OK we have had several soccer teams in this series, so it is great to feature a Rugby Club – London Irish. This was taken from i-newsletter and was sent to them by Patrick Lennon, Shepperton, Middlesex. “I would like to say a big “thank you” to the players, catering staff and delivery drivers involved in London Irish Rugby Club’s superb meals service for the NHS hospital nurses, doctors and staff in the London area. Last week with the support of the club’s main sponsor, Powerday, they made and delivered more than 3,000 meals to hospitals including, St Mary’s in Paddington, St George’s in Tooting, Northwick Park, Charing Cross, Hammersmith, West Middlesex and Royal Berkshire among others”. It really is fantastic to see such efforts from diverse and unrelated organisations such as sports clubs making these meaningful contributions at this worrying time. One of the good things to emerge from LOCKDOWN is the human spirit of kindness and co-operation that often lies, unseen beneath the surface, but there when really needed. is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University.
